Welcome to NoCrumbs — a voice-first storytelling platform where people share real-life lessons, mistakes, failures, setbacks, and comebacks through voice stories and written stories, so others can learn from lived experience.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use NoCrumbs, how we use that information, and your rights regarding your personal data. By using NoCrumbs, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Account Information

When you create a NoCrumbs account, we collect:

• Username (chosen by you)
• Email address
• Display name or full name (optional)
• Profile bio and avatar image (optional)
• Account creation date

Authentication Information

NoCrumbs supports two authentication methods. We collect the minimum information necessary to authenticate and identify your account:

• Email/Password — your email address and a hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
• Google OAuth — your name, email address, and Google profile image, as shared by Google when you authorise the connection. We never receive your Google password.

Voice Story Information

Voice stories are a core feature of NoCrumbs. When you record and upload a voice story, we collect and store:

• Audio recording files (in compressed audio format)
• Voice story metadata: title, duration, waveform data, upload timestamp
• Story category and optional written content accompanying the voice story

Audio files are stored on our secure cloud infrastructure and may be streamed to other users who browse the platform. Future features may include optional voice transcription to improve searchability.

Text Story Information

When you share written stories, we collect:

• Story title, body content, and category
• Lessons shared, outcomes, and story metadata
• Timestamps and edit history

Technical Information

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use NoCrumbs:

• Device type and operating system
• Browser type and version
• IP address
• Pages visited and time spent on each page
• Referring URLs
• Error logs and crash reports
• Analytics data to understand how users interact with the platform

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate and manage your account
• Host, deliver, and stream your voice stories and written stories to other users
• Personalise your feed and experience
• Improve platform features and user experience
• Analyse usage patterns through privacy-conscious analytics
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• Respond to user support requests
• Send important account and platform communications (not marketing)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your personal information to train AI or machine learning models without your explicit consent.

NoCrumbs offers Google Sign-In as an optional and convenient authentication method powered by Google OAuth 2.0.

• When you choose to sign in with Google, you will be redirected to Google's authentication screen.
• Google may share your name, email address, and profile picture with NoCrumbs after you authorise the connection.
• NoCrumbs never receives your Google password.
• Google's access is strictly limited to authentication — we do not request access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar, or any other Google service.
• You can revoke NoCrumbs' access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account settings.

Voice stories are a defining feature of NoCrumbs. By uploading a voice story, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You voluntarily choose to record and upload your voice to the platform.
• Your audio recording will be stored on our secure cloud infrastructure and may be streamed to other users visiting NoCrumbs.
• Voice story metadata (title, duration, waveform data) is also stored and displayed on the platform.
• You are solely responsible for the content of your voice recordings, including ensuring you have the right to share anything you say.
• Future features may include optional automatic transcription of voice stories to improve accessibility and search. We will inform users before enabling transcription on existing content.
• Uploaded voice content may be visible to all users of the platform by default, unless anonymity settings are applied.

You retain full ownership of your voice recordings. See Section 6 for details on your content rights.

You own your stories. Whether you share a voice recording or a written story on NoCrumbs, you retain full ownership of that content.

By sharing content on NoCrumbs, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

• Host, store, and back up your content on our infrastructure
• Display and present your content to users on the platform
• Stream your voice stories to users who browse NoCrumbs
• Reproduce content as necessary to operate the platform (e.g., thumbnails, previews)
• Distribute content within the NoCrumbs platform and its features

This licence exists only to operate and improve NoCrumbs. We will not sell, licence, or distribute your content to third parties for commercial purposes without your explicit consent. You may delete your content at any time (see Section 10 for user rights).

NoCrumbs uses Supabase as its primary database, authentication, and storage infrastructure. Supabase is built on industry-standard PostgreSQL and is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure with strong data protection practices.

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS.
• Authentication tokens and session data are managed securely via Supabase Auth.
• Row-Level Security (RLS) policies ensure users can only access data they are authorised to see.
• Audio files are stored in secure, access-controlled cloud storage buckets.
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

While we implement strong security measures, no system is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to report any security concerns to nocrumbs.in@gmail.com.

NoCrumbs uses essential cookies and browser storage to maintain your login session and platform preferences. These are necessary for the platform to function correctly.

We may use privacy-conscious analytics tools to understand how users interact with NoCrumbs. Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify individual users. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

We share data only with trusted infrastructure providers that are strictly necessary to operate the platform:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
• Hosting providers — to serve the NoCrumbs web application
• Google — solely for OAuth authentication when you choose to use Google Sign-In

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of NoCrumbs users or the public.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access — request a copy of your data held by NoCrumbs
• Correction — request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Content removal — delete your stories and voice recordings at any time from within the app
• Account termination — close your account permanently
• Assistance — contact us for help exercising any of these rights

To exercise your rights, contact us at nocrumbs.in@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

NoCrumbs is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at nocrumbs.in@gmail.com and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of NoCrumbs after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

For material changes that affect how we use your data in significant ways, we will make a reasonable effort to notify you via the platform or by email.
