Learning patience the hard way

I used to think love meant never having to compromise – that if someone really cared, they'd just understand without me having to spell it out. I was stubborn, impatient, and proud of it. My relationship with Alex ended because I couldn't let go of being right about the small stuff – how to split chores, whose turn it was to pick the movie, why I needed time alone. The final fight was over a text I didn't respond to for hours. They had messaged me after a rough day at work, asking to talk. But I was sulking because they'd forgotten to pick up milk. So I ignored it. When I finally answered, cold and clipped, they just said, "I can't do this anymore." I watched them pack a bag and walk out, and I told myself I was fine. But I wasn't. I felt hollow, like I had burned down a house just to prove I could strike a match. That night I sat alone on the couch, scrolling through old photos, my chest tight. It hit me: I had never actually tried to meet them halfway. I had treated compromise like a weakness instead of a glue. That realization didn't fix everything overnight, but it started a slow, painful shift. Every failed relationship since then has chipped away at my ego, teaching me that patience isn't about waiting – it's about respecting someone else's pace, even when it's slower than yours. I lost my pride, but I gained the ability to actually listen.

Favorite Person Became a Life Lesson

August 9, 2023. I was scrolling online and read, 'Nothing hurts more than your favorite person becoming a life lesson.' That hit hard. I'm over relationships now. Even if I kind of like someone, it doesn't spark anything in me. I regret reconciling with my long distance fiancée after she told me she cheated and thought she was pregnant by the other guy.

Tripda shutting down - another one bites the dust

Scrolling through Hacker News and saw the post: Tripda, Rocket Internet’s carpooling business, shutting down March 4. I used that app a few times. It worked okay. Now it's gone. Just another startup that didn't make it.

The SSC Exam Distraction

I was building a startup but got sidetracked by preparing for SSC exams. I spent all my time studying instead of working on my business. Eventually, the startup lost traction and I had to shut it down.
